Our school teaches Traditional JYOSHINMON SHORIN RYU KARATE-DO classes with katas originating back to the ancient Okinawan Karate from the Matsumura Shorin-Ryu style. These classes are combined with the self-defense principles that are an integral part of the art. The Shorin-Ryu system is characterized by its quick and fluid movements. Its main goal is to teach the students to develop their speed and their fast reaction time. This allows the practitioners to move out of the way instead of confronting the opponent.
We are members of the International Karate-Do Joshinmon kai Shorin Ryu Federation ™, which is the original Joshinmon federation in the United States and it was established in April 1992.
